January 30, 2026
Looking for something a little different for your next birthday party, field trip, scout outing or family gathering? Owl Creek Landing offers a refreshing alternative to the usual go-to spots, combining outdoor adventure, nature and space to explore together. With a variety of experiences ranging from high-energy thrills to peaceful forest walks, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.
Designed to be fully ADA-accessible, Owl Creek Landing welcomes guests of all ages and abilities to participate in the fun. Whether your group wants to climb, slide, stroll or simply soak in the surroundings, the mix of attractions makes it easy to create a day that fits your group’s pace, interests and energy level. Read on to learn more about what Owl Creek Landing provides for group outings.
Something for Every Kind of Explorer
Let’s start with the fun part: all the things there are to do at Owl Creek Landing. The biggest (literally!) attraction is the Nautilus Tower—a 65-foot spiral observation tower. Guests make their way up to the top of the open-air tower by walking up the seven-foot-wide, fully accessible ramp.
Right in the heart of the tower is the Whorl Slide—the longest spiral slide in the U.S. Eight stories later, you’ll land at the bottom grinning, laughing and ready to go again. And be sure to snap those selfies and group photos at the top (picture the scenic forest background) and the bottom (laughing faces)!
For a slightly mellower experience, head to the Canopy Walk for a calmer but equally memorable experience. The elevated wooden pathway soars 30-40 feet above the forest floor, giving guests a peaceful way to enjoy nature and connect with the environment.
At the west end of the Canopy Walk is the Children’s Treehouse Village—an interactive, imaginative outdoor play area designed for kids ages 2+ (adult kids included). It’s a favorite for families and a natural gathering spot for birthday parties and group celebrations.
Down below, Owl Creek Landing’s mile-long network of ground-level trails winds through the forest below the Canopy Walk. The paths are stroller- and wheelchair-friendly, and guests can stroll at their own pace, watch the action above or simply enjoy a quiet moment in nature.
Perfect for Group Outings
Owl Creek Landing is an ideal destination for group adventures of all kinds, from birthday parties and field trips to scout outings, family gatherings and multi-generational get-togethers. As a fully ADA-accessible attraction, Owl Creek Landing is designed so visitors of all abilities can explore and enjoy the experience together.
With everything from the eight-story Nautilus Tower and Whorl Slide to the elevated Canopy Walk and Children’s Treehouse Village, groups can mix high-energy fun with slower, nature-focused moments. Children can get their energy out in the play area and open forest, while adults can enjoy conversation and observe the fun.
Groups looking for an educational component will also find plenty to discover along the way. Thoughtfully placed interpretive signs invite guests to learn more about the plants and animals that live within the forest ecosystem, whether they’re exploring the ground-level Forest Trail or walking among the treetops on the Canopy Walk. It’s learning woven naturally into the experience.
